TSN endpoint Ethernet MAC
Tight coupling of software and Time Sensitive Networking
Tight coupling of software and Time Sensitive Networking
The TSN endpoint Ethernet MAC is designed for direct access of software to TSN Ethernet.
An optimized hardware interface enables minimal software effort for Ethernet frame transmission and reception.
A standard Ethernet MAC is provided for seamless integration into the operating system. Operation with Gbit Ethernet at full speed is supported.
For real-time applications it provides direct access to TX and RX queues. Multiple queues are supported. Time aware scheduling and defined queue priorities guarantees real-time for transmission. Assignment of received frames to RX queues based on frame content enables reception with minimal latency.
DMA is used whenever possible. Only an absolute minimum of register access is necessary during operation.
Zero copy is achieved by direct access to DMA buffers. Interupt free operation reduces software jitter to a minimum.
